receipt of the news of Her Majesty's Government, and of your letter dated 20th ultor, regarding the
walk

Government, to construct a public walk or Praya at Hongkong.
We shall be happy in this, as in all other matters, to forward the plans
of Government as far as lies in our power. And it would
give us great pleasure to see such an improvement carried into effect, Yet we think it would
